- Prepare the Dough
- In a large bowl, mix flour, yeast, sugar, and salt.
- Add olive oil and warm water. Stir until combined.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
- Place in an oiled bowl, cover, and let rise for 30 minutes.
- Preheat and Prep
- Preheat oven to 425°F.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a small bowl, mix melted butter with minced garlic. Set aside.
- Shape and Top
- Punch down the dough and roll it into a rectangle (about ¼ inch thick).
- Cut into 1-inch wide, 4-5 inch long strips.
- Brush with garlic butter mixture.
- Sprinkle with mozzarella, parmesan, and Italian seasoning.
- Press cheese gently into the dough.
- Add pepperoni if using.
- Bake to Perfection
- Transfer to the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
- Let cool for 2 minutes before serving.
Notes
Swap mozzarella with cheddar for a sharper flavor.
Double the cheese for an extra gooey experience.
To make ahead, freeze unbaked sticks and bake directly from frozen, adding 3-5 extra minutes.
