Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp fresh lemon balm leaves or 1 tbsp dried lemon balm
  • 2 cups water preferably filtered
  • 1 lemon slice optional, for flavor and Vitamin C
  • 1 tsp honey optional, for sweetness
  • 1 small slice fresh ginger optional, for extra fat burning
  • A few mint leaves optional, for digestion and flavor

Equipment

  • Teapot or mug
  • Strainer
  • Kettle or small pot
  • Lid or cover for steeping

Method

  1. Rinse lemon balm leaves if using fresh.
  2. Heat water just before boiling – look for small bubbles around the edges.
  3. Place lemon balm leaves in a mug or teapot. Add ginger if using.
  4. Pour hot water over the herbs and cover.
  5. Steep for 8–10 minutes.
  6. Strain the tea into a cup.
  7. Add lemon slice and honey if desired.
  8. Drink 1 cup 3x daily – morning (empty stomach), before lunch, and before bed for optimal results.

Notes

Do not boil the water fully – gentle steeping preserves beneficial oils in lemon balm.
Fresh lemon balm is more effective, but dried works too.
Optional add-ins: fennel, green tea, chamomile, raspberry leaf, cinnamon stick, dandelion.
Great for reducing bloating, stress eating, and nighttime cravings.
Consult a doctor if pregnant, on thyroid meds, or sedatives.
