Ingredients

For the Wings:
  • 1.5 –2 lbs frozen chicken wings drummettes/flats or whole
  • 1 –2 tbsp olive oil or avocado oil spray
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp garlic powder optional
  • 1/2 tsp paprika optional
Optional Buffalo Sauce:
  • 1/3 cup hot sauce like Frank’s RedHot
  • 3 tbsp melted butter or margarine
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp honey or brown sugar

Equipment

  • Air fryer
  • Tongs
  • Paper towels (optional)

Method

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 5 minutes.
  2. Place wings directly from freezer into the air fryer basket. If stuck together, run under cold water briefly to separate.
  3. Dry and season: Pat dry (optional), then spray or brush lightly with oil. Sprinkle with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika if using.
  4. Cook at 400°F for 12 minutes in a single layer.
  5. Flip wings and air fry another 12–15 minutes until golden brown, crispy, and internal temp hits 165°F (74°C).
  6. Sauce (optional): Toss cooked wings in prepared sauce. For sticky wings, return to air fryer for 2 minutes.

Notes

Do not overcrowd the basket. Cook in batches for best results.
Drying wings with paper towels before cooking helps crispiness.
Leftovers? Store in the fridge up to 3 days or freeze for a month. Reheat in air fryer at 350°F.
Try different sauces and seasonings like lemon pepper, BBQ, or garlic parmesan!
