Ingredients
  

Core Ingredients:
  • 3 cups fresh kale stems removed
  • 1 large cucumber
  • 2 Granny Smith apples
  • 1 whole lemon
  • 2- inch piece fresh ginger
  • 2 stalks celery
Optional Superchargers:
  • 1/2 bunch fresh cilantro
  • 1 small green pear
  • Small handful mint leaves
  • 1/4 lime with peel

Equipment

  • Juicer or blender with a fine-mesh strainer
  • Cutting board
  • Knife
  • Measuring cups

Method
 

Prep Your Produce:
  1. Wash all ingredients thoroughly. Cut everything into chunks that will fit your juicer or blender.
Juicing Order:
  1. Juice in the following order for maximum yield:
  2. Start with cucumber and celery.
  3. Add kale, rolling it into tight balls.
  4. Juice apples to push through the greens.
  5. Finish with ginger and lemon.
Blender Method:
  1. If using a blender, blend all ingredients with 1/2 cup water. Strain through a fine-mesh strainer or cheesecloth.
Serve Immediately:
  1. Pour into a glass and enjoy fresh! If storing, refrigerate for up to 12 hours in an airtight container.

Notes

For a sweeter juice, add an extra apple or pear.
To make it milder, swap kale for spinach and reduce ginger.
